The Procedure
After your initial consultation, anaesthetic cream will be applied to the face to ensure a virtually painless treatment. Whilst the anaesthetic is applied, blood will be taken by your experienced doctor to be used in the centrifuge. The blood will be spun to obtain 4 fractions in total containing blood, white blood cells, plasma fraction 1 and plasma fraction 2. The white and red blood cells fractions are not used. The reason the white blood cells and blood cells are not used (unlike in other similar procedures such as the Vampire Facelift) is because these fractions cause inflammation.
You may have seen celebrities with puffed up faces and swelling as a result of this. This will not happen with PRGF as the inflammatory components are removed.
The treatment will take approximately 1 hour with minimum to no down time observed. You can return to work the next day. Remember, you cannot have adverse reactions to your own blood! The plasma is then prepared and injected into various positions of the face and neck. You should feel no pain as the anaesthetic cream will have taken effect.
It is recommended to have exactly 3 treatments over the course of 3 months as this will create a nutrient packed matrix inside your skin that will release proteins over the next 12 months to help slow down aging and stimulate regeneration of the skin. This should be repeated annually for optimum effect.
